It’s becoming clearer every day to AGC chapters across the nation that our skilled construction workers are retiring faster than we can replace them. That problem is compounded by the fact fewer students than ever are viewing construction as a viable career path. The Montana Contractors’ Association (MCA) and MCA Education Foundation believe the solution to this problem is not a simple, nor immediate one. Instead, it will require the sustained effort of our association on a state-wide level, and our member companies in their own communities, improving awareness of careers in construction and supporting students who want to help build Montana. Through its MCA Education Foundation Contractors in the Community Award, the Education Foundation wants to recognize the MCA’s member companies who have exhibited particular innovation in showcasing the benefits of our industry to Montana students, setting them on track to seek careers in construction.
